Referral Program FAQs

  • Do I have to be an Aterra client to refer someone?
    Not at all — we welcome referrals from anyone who shares our love for extraordinary travel. You don’t need to have traveled with us to participate.

    Can I refer myself?
    No — self-referrals aren’t eligible.

    What qualifies as a successful referral?
    A referral becomes eligible once the traveler books a journey with Aterra, submits their 30% deposit, and mentions your name during their first contact with us — before any trip is confirmed. They must be a new client who hasn’t previously inquired or booked with Aterra.

    How many people can I refer?
    As many as you’d like — there’s no cap. However, only one referral reward will be granted per trip booked, regardless of how many travelers are in the party (e.g., couples, families, or groups). If multiple people refer the same client, we’ll honor the first valid referral received.

    What if someone I refer books more than one trip?
    Only the first qualifying trip is eligible for a referral reward.

    How will you know they were referred by me?
    The referred traveler must clearly mention your name when they first reach out to Aterra. If they were already in our system or came through another channel (like social media or Google), they may not qualify.

    What is the referral reward, and when will I receive it?
    You’ll receive a cash thank-you after your referral’s final balance is paid. The amount depends on the total value of their trip:

    • Trips under $5,000 → $100

    • $5,000 – $7,499 → $200

    • $7,500 – $9,999 → $250

    • $10,000 – $14,999 → $400

    • $15,000 – $19,999 → $500

    • $20,000+ → $750

    Please allow 4–6 weeks after the final payment for processing.

    Can I use my reward for future travel instead of cash?
    Absolutely — your reward can be applied as a credit toward your next Aterra journey.

    Is the referral reward taxable?
    Yes. Any federal, state, or local taxes that may apply are your responsibility. Aterra will issue any required tax documentation directly to the IRS if applicable.

    Is there anything else I should know?
    Referral entries that are lost, incomplete, or submitted after a trip is already in progress may not qualify. Aterra reserves the right to verify all referral details, to disqualify entries in good faith, and to modify or end the program at any time without notice.
